Challenge

Red Core Technology sells proactive managed IT, cyber security, and cloud services to businesses across Darwin and the Top End, a market where buyers search locally and judge an IT provider partly on whether its own website looks and performs like it was built by people who know what they are doing. The site had to establish that credibility immediately, rank for local intent, and be live quickly.

Approach

We built the site as a fully static Astro project deployed to Cloudflare, so pages are served from the edge with almost no client-side JavaScript. Technical SEO was part of the build rather than a later pass: ProfessionalService and Organization structured data with the real service area, canonical URLs, a generated sitemap, and per-page metadata. The visual design leans on typography and restraint rather than heavy imagery, which is what keeps it both good-looking and fast.

Outcome

The whole site ships around 8 KB of JavaScript and answers in roughly a quarter of a second, with every page pre-rendered and edge-cached. Search engines get explicit structured data naming Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine, and the wider Northern Territory as the service area, and the client got a site that reflects the standard of service they sell.

Managed IT is a trust purchase. A business owner in Darwin comparing providers is, whether they would put it this way or not, reading the website as evidence: if your own site is slow, dated, or invisible on Google, it is fair to wonder what your infrastructure advice is worth. That made performance and search visibility part of the pitch, not just technical housekeeping.

Static by default

The site is built with Astro and deployed to Cloudflare, which means every page is pre-rendered HTML served from an edge location rather than assembled on request. There is no client-side framework loading before the content appears, and the total JavaScript payload is around 8 KB, and most of the page is readable the moment it arrives. Server responses come back in roughly a quarter of a second.

This is the unglamorous reason the site feels quick. Not an optimisation pass at the end, but an architecture where the fast path is the default one and you would have to work to make it slow.

SEO built in, not bolted on

Local intent is the whole game for a regional MSP: the valuable search is not “managed IT services” but someone in the Top End looking for a provider who can actually turn up.

So the structured data says so explicitly. The site carries ProfessionalService and Organization schema with the genuine service area (Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine, and across the Northern Territory) alongside the business address and contact details, so search engines have unambiguous machine-readable answers rather than inferences drawn from body copy. Canonical URLs, a generated sitemap, and per-page titles and descriptions round it out.

Looking the part

Restraint does a lot of work here. The design carries its weight through typography, spacing, and a disciplined palette rather than large hero imagery and animation, which happens to be the same decision that keeps the pages light. Fast and good-looking were not competing goals on this project; they came from the same choices.
